On May 10, the 12th National Mass Ice and Snow Season (Zhejiang Venue) and the 2026 Zhejiang Provincial National Fitness Ice and Snow Carnival (Qingtian Station) officially kicked off in the snowfield of Qingtian, Lishui, a renowned overseas Chinese hometown in Zhejiang. More than 200 ice and snow enthusiasts gathered at the site to participate in a grand national fitness event that seamlessly integrated snow sports, soccer excitement, charitable care, and local overseas Chinese culture.
Incorporating Qingtian’s unique overseas Chinese characteristics, the event featured the launch of the “Qingtian Western Cuisine Master Smart Guide,” which combined snow experiences with local cuisine and cultural tourism. Participating families enjoyed the perfect blend of sports, culture, flavors, and interactive fun.
At the venue, Qingtian-born snowboarder Ma Yingqi was invited to read the ice and snow initiative, “Rush to the Snow, Embrace the Passion,” calling on more young people and families to actively join snow sports, embrace the concept of national fitness, and enjoy the health and happiness brought by winter activities. “Qingtian is my hometown, and leading children onto the snow slopes right here where I grew up is the most meaningful thing,” Ma Yingqi said.
On the snowfield, parent-child families engaged in intense competitions at the “Spring Fun Snow·Dreaming of Wuyue” snow soccer interactive zone. Challenges such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and carrying the ball thrilled the children. Parents coached from the sidelines, snapping photos and cheering, filling the snowfield with energy and a warm atmosphere.
“The combination of snow and soccer is both fresh and engaging. Our whole family got completely immersed,” said parent Zhao Chunhong. “Through such activities, children not only exercise but also learn teamwork. Participating together with my child feels especially heartwarming.”
Charitable elements ran through the entire event. Qingtian
