Felipe, the star striker for Chengdu Rongcheng, was recently honored with the Chinese Super League’s Player of the Week award. During an exclusive interview, he opened up about the driving force behind his remarkable form this season.
“I want to thank my personal trainer,” Felipe stated. “He designs individualized training plans for me off the pitch. Over the years, our collaboration has been excellent. My mobility and competitive condition are closely linked to his guidance.”

Having spent several seasons with the club, Felipe now regards Chengdu as his home. When asked whether he would prefer to win the CSL Golden Boot or help Chengdu Rongcheng capture the league title, he didn’t hesitate. “I would choose the championship without any doubt,” he said, expressing his desire to lead the team to its first-ever league crown and reach a new peak in his career.

After recovering from injury earlier this season, Felipe regained his place as the team’s starting center-forward. Whenever Chengdu Rongcheng found themselves in a tight match, he stepped up, showcasing both his creative passing and clinical finishing. His contributions have been vital to the club’s current position at the top of the standings.
“I’m fully focused on performing well and earning a long-term contract extension with the club,” Felipe added. Given his impressive displays, it seems only a matter of time before he secures a new deal. Losing him would be a significant blow for Chengdu Rongcheng, as he would undoubtedly attract interest from other clubs.
