After a challenging start to his full-time Formula E campaign, Andretti rookie Felipe Drugovich finally broke his points duck at the Berlin E-Prix. The Brazilian driver had struggled to score all season but managed to finish ninth in Round 8, earning two valuable points.
Drugovich expressed relief at finally getting on the scoreboard, while candidly describing his season so far as a disaster. “My pace in qualifying has been quite good, especially in group qualifying,” he told FormulaE.com. “In two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, we’ve been struggling quite a bit as a team. I’m not sure what’s going on there—we need to analyze that. In the races, it’s always been a disaster this year, but at least we managed to score some points today.”
Looking ahead, he remained optimistic. “All in all, I think I need to be happy with that, considering not many people who started in the top 10 or top seven finished there. This is a track where that happens—people from the back come to the front and those at the front drop back, and we managed to survive. I don’t think there’s much more I could have done, but hopefully this is just the start of a strong scoring run.”
Drugovich also shared his emotions on Instagram after the race, posting a set of photos with the caption: “P9 in today’s race! I hope these points are the first of many more this season! See you in Monaco.” A day earlier, he had finished 13th in Round 7, writing: “Good qualifying, but we couldn’t hold onto the top ten in the race. Another one in the books, let’s go again tomorrow.”
Currently, Drugovich sits 18th in the Formula E Drivers’ Championship with two points.
