In the second round of the NBA playoffs on May 12, the Los Angeles Lakers fell 110-115 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, completing a 4-0 sweep. Lakers forward LeBron James posted 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists on 8-of-18 shooting in the loss.

When asked about his playing future after the game, James admitted uncertainty. “I think you guys have asked me about retirement before, and I’ve already answered that. I don’t think I’ve ever come out and said, ‘Oh, retirement is coming,'” James said. “Honestly, regarding my future, I don’t know. Obviously, the pain of losing the series is still fresh. I don’t know what the future means for me.”

James added that he plans to “re-evaluate with my family, talk to them, and spend some time with them” in the coming weeks to help make his decision. The 41-year-old superstar concluded his 23rd NBA season, and his next move remains unclear as the Lakers face an early playoff exit.
