When asked about his playing future after the game, James admitted uncertainty. “I think you guys have asked me about retirement before, and I’ve already answered that. I don’t think I’ve ever come out and said, ‘Oh, retirement is coming,'” James said. “Honestly, regarding my future, I don’t know. Obviously, the pain of losing the series is still fresh. I don’t know what the future means for me.”
James added that he plans to “re-evaluate with my family, talk to them, and spend some time with them” in the coming weeks to help make his decision. The 41-year-old superstar concluded his 23rd NBA season, and his next move remains unclear as the Lakers face an early playoff exit.
