Opta Sports’ supercomputer has issued an updated forecast for teams fighting to stay in the Mir Russian Premier League (RPL). After 29 rounds, Krylya Sovetov (12th place) have a 72.4% chance of finishing 11th or 12th, securing their spot outside the relegation playoff zone. Meanwhile, Akron (currently 13th) have a 27.6% probability. The two teams will face each other in the decisive 30th round in Samara.
Additionally, Opta reports that Makhachkala’s Dynamo (14th) have a 92.3% chance of entering the relegation playoff round, with only a 7.7% risk of direct relegation after 30 rounds. In contrast, Pari Nizhny Novgorod is projected to leave the top division with a 92.3% chance (a 7.7% likelihood to climb to 14th place and enter the playoffs).
Sochi have no chance of staying in the top flight, but they hold a 29.6% probability of finishing in 15th place, the second-to-last spot.
In the final round, Pari NN will face Rubin away, Sochi will host Akhmat, and Dynamo Makhachkala will take on Spartak at home. All matches are scheduled for May 17th.
